Who We Are


Dr. Anchita Karmakar

Dr. Anchita Karmakar is a local graduate from Bond University and holds a dual degree in Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. She was born and raised in Japan with Indian parents who were pioneers of Yoga. After completing her full training as a Yoga and Meditation Instructor in Japan, she migrated to Australia to pursue her ambition of becoming the bridge between western and eastern medicine.

She is a native Japanese, Bengali, and Hindi speaker with a sound knowledge of cultural inference and the needs of various international and domestic patients. In recent years, Anchita has had some personal losses, which have left irreparable emotional pain and triggered her interest and intuition in treating people with Chronic Pain. She has been working closely with various expertise in the field of pain management and is now pursing higher qualifications in this field.

Her down to earth, easy going personality and her vast life experiences have made her extremely approachable and familiar to many patients on the Gold Coast, where she has been practicing for the past five years as a Medical Practitioner. Dr Karmakar can provide a General Health Screening for corporates and individuals and special consults for pain management.

Dr. Karmakar has recently moved her practice to Brisbane, Spring Hill.

Dr. Yusuke Sakabe

Dr. Yusuke Sakabe was born and raised in the city of Fukuoka on Kyushu island in the southern end of Japan. He came to Australia in 2002, where he studied Chiropractic, Fitness and Human Movement Science. He received a Bachelors Degree of Chiropractic Science and a Masters Degree of Chiropractic from Macquarie University in Sydney.

After his graduation, he practiced in Airlie Beach and Proserpine as a locum, then worked in Murwillumbah for a couple of years before he settled on the Gold Coast in 2013.

He is very keen on playing and watching various sports, especially golf and baseball. It is due to his great interest in sports, he has been trained and certified in sports chiropractic, sports enhancement and injury prevention. He is a member of SCA (Sports Chiropractic Association of Australia) and FICS (The International Federation of Sports Chiropractic).

Dr. Sakabe strongly believes in the philosophy that the well-balanced body is the foundation of peak performance and balanced life. He helps athletes and families to restore natural healthy balance through comprehensive chiropractic care, including manual adjustment, soft tissue therapies, rehabilitation dry needling, and nutritional advices.

Yusuke currently practices in Brisbane, Spring Hill as part of our Life Dynamics Brisbane clinic.

Dr. Joyce McSwan

Dr. Joyce is the Director of PainWise and Turning Pain into Gain program under the Primary Health Network.  She is now affiliated directly with us, enabling us to get full access to her expertise through case conferencing and consultation enableing our patients with Chronic and Persistent pain to get a suprior and affortable management plan for their pain issues.

Joyce is a clinical consultant pharmacist and expert in pain education with a special interest in treating persistent pain. She has authored the MedRN Chronic Pain DVD training for health professionals nationally and innovator of the PainWISE Pharmacy Professional Service Program, an Australian first for the pharmacy professional service industry.

Joyce has been recognised for her contributions and innovations to pain management in several awards over the past 3 years including the prestigious Australian Innovative Pharmacist of year 2013 award, the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Quality Use of Medicines Pain Management Award and the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Bowl of Hygeia award.

Joyce is a member of the Australian Pain Society and represents the pharmacy industry on the APS Multidisciplinary Relationships Committee.

Currently she is the Clinical Director of the ‘Turning Pain into Gain’ program for the Gold Coast Primary Health Network, Australia’s first federally funded primary health pain program. Her area of expertise in the area of primary health is in the field of clinical program innovation to optimise care for those living with persistent pain and chronic disease management.

In her spare time she volunteers at various Pain Support Groups in North Queensland and on the Gold Coast and enjoys baking, playing the piano and spending time with her family.
